Srinagar, Aug 29: The body of a nine-year-old boy, who had gone missing on August 25 from Gujar Basti, Saimoh in Tral, South Kashmir, was discovered today in a nearby forest, officials confirmed.
According to a report by news agency NVI, officials located the semi-decomposed body of the young tribal boy in an orchard in Sirnoo earlier today.
Authorities stated that the body has been taken into police custody, and a forensic team is en route to perform an examination.
A missing person’s report for the boy had been filed at Tral Police Station on August 25, 2024, officials said.
The death is currently under investigation, according to the officials. The boy has been identified as Idrees Jan Bajad, aged 9, son of Ali Jan Bajad, a resident of Gujjar Basti, Sirnoo, Tral.
