Apni Party to File Petition Against Waqf Amendment Bill in Supreme Court Tomorrow
The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party has announced its intention to file a petition in the Supreme Court on April 8, 2025, challenging the recently enacted Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025. Advocate Gowhar will represent the party in this legal endeavor and is scheduled to travel to New Delhi to submit the petition.
Apni Party District President Shopian, Advocate Gowhar Hassan Wani, confirmed the decision and strongly criticized the Act, stating, The Waqf Amendment is a direct encroachment on the religious rights of Muslims. It undermines the constitutional provisions that safeguard our religious institutions. We will not remain silent spectators.
