Reshuffle in Police Department : Four Districts of J&K Appoints New SSPs, 199 Batch KPS officer Imtiyaz Hussain is New SSP of Srinagar District
Srinagar, August 30 (Kashmir Essence) – In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Election Commission of India has announced a reshuffle of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSPs) in four districts of the Valley. According to the order, Imtiyaz Hussain will assume the role of SSP Srinagar, succeeding Ashish Misra. Zahid Malik will take over as SSP Baramulla, replacing Gurinder Pal Singh. Ghulam Jeelani is the new SSP for Kupwara, replacing Shobhit Saxena, and Ifroz Ahmad will serve as SSP Handwara, succeeding Dawood Ayoub. This reshuffle follows a major police shakeup on August 16, when 33 IPS and JKPS officers were transferred in advance of the Model Code of Conduct for the elections. (Kashmir Essence)
